The “country two-step”, also known as the Texan step, is a very well known folk dance usually danced to country or folk music. There are many different versions and variations of it and everybody has their own “particular spin” on it, so there truly is no “correct” way to dance it: just dance it as you feel it.
This dance is related to square dancing, polka, the jitterbug, and the Texas waltz. If you want to learn how to dance it, you might be able to find some lessons in a dance school (especially if you live in a Southern State) but you might be luckier if you take online lessons on an online platform such as Steezy or Dancers.
If you want to practice this dance, western pubs, bars and dance clubs where they play polka and country music is where you will be the luckiest!
